Show World Federalist To Speak to Knife and Fork Club VERNON NASH w .' How we can create an effective world government will be the keynote of an address by Dr. Vernon Ver-non Nash, vice president of the United World Federalists, before the members of the Escalante Knife and Fork cl,ub, the evening of February 23 according to D. C. Dix, the local club president. Vernon Nash will point out what individuals can do to further fur-ther world federation, now, and will explain his arguments, pro and con, for transforming the United Nations into a federated world agency for peace. Resident of four continents and traveler in twenty countries, Vernon Nash has seen much of the world and has found it worth fighting for. In regard to world peace, Nash describes himself as a fanatic a person unshake-ably unshake-ably certain there is only one solution in this respect, the solution is a federated world government. Rhodes scholar from Missouri, Dr. Nash founded the first school of journalism in the Orient at Yenching University, Peiping, China in 1924. The zealot for world government govern-ment has earned for himself the reputation of being one of the soundest thinkers and lecturers on international affairs. From the Atlantic to the Pacific, his voice has been heard in scores and scores of associated clubs and he is pardonably proud of his near-perfect record for keeping keep-ing lecture dates. Even during the second World War, when tra-1 vel was difficult, he made two dates by hitch-hiking and three by chartering light planes when others were grounded or did not fly the way he wanted to go. Author of several outstanding books for world federation, his latest "The World Must Be Gov. erned" was published in April, 1949. |
