It is the belief of the committee that Cear City mast no longer be content with looking look-ing to two or three industries or activities us a means of employ-n.'ci.t employ-n.'ci.t and revenue. Tlie city needs greater diversification -o that if one industry or activity elumijs or f.uis the others will carry tlie people peo-ple through such a period. It has been decided that the following fol-lowing new or comparatively ntw Industries should be given special attention and the following committees com-mittees have been named to cany the responsibility for the respective projets: TURKEY AND POULTRY RAISING RAIS-ING INDUSTRY; Committee: E. M. Corry, chairman, chair-man, Arthur Jones, Joseph F. Thompson, Moroni Sanders, Rolce Nelson and Peter Gurr. Although present conditions do not point to an encouraging tourist year, tourist travel promotion will continue to the greatest extent possible. pos-sible. RABBIT PRODUCTION: Committee: Elsworth Flanlgan, chairman, Neil Boyter, O. C. Bowman, Bow-man, Darwin Condle and Otto Reeves. With the increased demand for meat, the rabbit business has a possibility pos-sibility of becoming an important industry in Cedar City, and considerable con-siderable interest is now being shown in this industry. Right now, if we had three thousand rabbits ready for market each week, we could market them at a price of approximately ap-proximately $3,000.00. A truck would stop at Cedar City and make delivery to the market. It is felt that this industry offers great possibilities. FISHING AND HUNTING: Committee, Howard C. Baker, chairman, Ace Terry, Harold L. Sargent. It Ls time now to be looking forward for-ward to and making preparation to entertain sportsmen who will come Into our section during the fishing season. Steps are now being taken to advertise our hunting and flsn-ing flsn-ing facilities and to attract sportsmen sports-men to our part of the country to participate in these activities. |
