Show High School News -by LaDawn HiJdle- -CliZ-OFFICERS CHOSEN Officers of the Boys' Organization Organiza-tion were chosen last week. Thae who will lead this group next year are: Blair Nelson, president; Roger Barlow, vice president; Milton Jones, .secretary; Bill Esplin, Junior representative; rep-resentative; and Bill Hess, senior representative. The Boys' Organization is sponsoring spon-soring the project of preparing the high school athletic field for the planting of grass. Las Wednesday while the girls were entertaining their mothers at the tea, the boys worked in the Held. The Boys' Organization has contributed con-tributed $25 toward the purchase of a block "C" which will be placed on top of the building. -CHS- F ASH ION SHOW SUCCESS The fashion show held last week was indeed a success. Everyone present pre-sent enjoyed themselves very much. Miss Mary Omen, the stylist from New York, gave an interesting fashion fash-ion show, and the girls of the home economics department modeled the clothes they have made. The officers of-ficers of the Cedarettes for next year -were initiated and then a tea was served In the gym; after this many stayed and saw the art exhibit. ex-hibit. -CHS- COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES Commencement exercises for the first group of students to graduate from Cedar High will be held Thursday Thurs-day night, May 14, In the hlga school auditorium. Very nice exercises exer-cises have been prepared and we know everyone will enjoy them. -CHS- SEMINARY GRADUATION The graduation exercises for the Seminary students were held last Sunday night in the First Ward Chapel. It would have been impossible impos-sible to have had a nicer or a more Impressive exercise than this was. Very fine talks were given by Louis Barlow and Shirley Young. Leonard Ahlstrom, Allen Taylor, Idonna Oower, Iona Roundy, Shirley Young and Arlene Barlow gave musical numbers. The Invocation was given by Jay Bowen and the Benediction was offered by Veda Kenney. Er-win Er-win Heaps welcomed the group. Vernon Cooley presented the graduates, gradu-ates, and President David L. Sargent Sar-gent presented the diplomas and an address to the graduates was given by Dr. M. Lynn Bennion. The advice ad-vice offered by Dr. Bennion was interesting in-teresting and very worthwhile. I am sure that those of the graduating class will never forget the exercises. -CHS- SCHOOL YEAR IS OVER On Friday the 15th, another school year will be over. Most of the final tests are over and each department is winding up its work. The Girls' Athletic Association Is running off the spring intramurals of tennis, baseball and archery; the drama classes are taking their final exams In the form of a one-act play presented pre-sented by each student; the English tests are over and geometry and history will soon be completed. There is an excitement around school that comes with the completion of another an-other year, and the receiving of final grades. At all times students ; are seen autographing yearbooks, which have Just come out. We have had a grand school year. There has been fun alwaysjn class j or out. There has been success in j school activities. In football, we gained the State Championship, In commercial contests, we gained rec-i rec-i ognition for our school, In track the boys brought home honors. We have had dances, plays and lyceum i numbers. The dance review, the pajamboree, Hobo Day, and the Ho-j Ho-j bohemla have all been fun. We have had wonderful teachers who J have understood us and helped us realize that we are In school to learn and not to spend our time playln?. I We want to thank them for their J advice and for the knowledge thty have helped us gain. 1 It Is true that we are eager for vacation to begin. We always are, l but we will be here next fall, anx- lous for our work to begin and ready for the fun that comes with It. t . |
