Show Two Delinquents To be Inducted Into Service -5 m Two delinquents from the local Selective Service Board have been located and will be Inducted into the armed services before the end of the month. Warren Smith of Cedar City, who should have been Inducted on May 5th., but could not be located because be-cause he had moved and failed ta notify his Board of the change, has been transferred to the Las Vegas board and will be inducted on May 27th Rual M Martinez, a Mexican who registered at Cedar City, but later left without notifying his Board, was apprehended at El Paso, Texas, when he applied for permission to enter Mexico. He registered as an Amrican citizen, but when making application to leave the country, claimed that he was not a citizen. When notified of Martinez's apprehension, ap-prehension, the local board ordered him held for Induction on May 18th. E. B. Dalley, secretary of the selective sel-ective service board, states that all registrants should remember that It Is their duty and responsibility to keep the Board advised as to the registrants address. Failure to notify no-tify the Board of a change of address ad-dress is a serious offense which carries a heavy penalty. In the past the Board members have been Inclined to be lenient on this matter, mat-ter, but so many registrants have been negligent, causing much confusion con-fusion and troublle, that It has become be-come necessary to enforce the ruling rul-ing rigidly. Anyone who fails to comply with this regulation in the future will run the risk of suffering suffer-ing the full penalty, Mr. Dalley says. |
