Show City Plans Parking Of Swimming Pool Grounds A plan for parking the area on the city park surrounding the swimming swim-ming pool is being worked out by the City, according to City Councilman Council-man L. C. Miles, chairman of the Parks and Public Property committee commit-tee of the City Council. Plans include the planting cf shrubs on the East side of the pool, facing First East street, and also parking the area south and west of the pool. It has been suggested that the area South of the pool be covered with an oil mat to make it possible for cars to be parked there, while the occupants of the cars watch the activities of the pool. However, some people feel that parking on this area should be forbidden, for-bidden, and that the space be marked mark-ed and benches furnished for spectators. spec-tators. This would make a much more attractive place of the pool surroundings, would eliminate dust and would not deprive people of the privilege of gathering at the park and watching the swimmers. The street east of the Park and leading to the pool will be oiled this summer, it ls understood. The oiH-ning of the pool causes a tremendous tre-mendous increase in travel on the street, making it almost imperative that the street be oiled. |
