Show Iron County to Join Nationwide U. S. O. Campaign Iron County will Join In a nationwide nation-wide U S O campaign to provld.) social, recreational and spiritual weirare for our soldier boys In uniform, uni-form, according to Morgan Rollo, who has been named as U 8 O chairman for the county. U S O serves the boys from our county wherever they may go In the service ser-vice of their country. In this campaign funds will be raised to assist in providing social, recreational and spiritual advantages advan-tages at the various camps where our boys may be located. The national na-tional quota for this program has been set at $32,000,000. Of this, $85,-100 $85,-100 Is to be raised in Utah, with Iron County's quota set at $250. The campaign is already underway, and will end on July 4. Earl J. Glade, state chairman, in commenting upon tlhe U S O said, "remember that when men Join the colors, they Join the biggest club in the world the U S O. The members mem-bers of the United Service organization organiza-tion Include every mother's son in ttie fighting uniforms of Ukicle Sam. By the end of the year there will be 3,600,000 of them. "Built in every threshold of camps and training stations," continued Mr. Glade, "U S O Clubhouses welcome wel-come the off-duty fighters to their friendly firesides, lounges and social halls. There are 40? clubhouses with 103 smaller operations to give comfort com-fort and cheer, recreation and rest to all who shoulder guns or make them." |
