W. P. A. Conference Held in Cedar The Defense, Health and Welfare Service Section of WPA held a Food Preservation Training Conference for the County Supervisors In District Dist-rict No. 5 in Cedar City May 6, 7 and, 8. The Conference was in session ses-sion at the Hotel El Escalante May 6 and 8 and a food preservation demonstration was given in the Home Economics Department at the Cedar City High School May 7, announces an-nounces Mrs. Celestia S. Brown, District Director. Mrs. Amy LaCoste, Chief of Section, Sec-tion, Miss Georgia Hougard, State Supervisor of School Lunches, and John Campbell, State Supervisor of Food Preservation, all of Salt Lake City, were in attendance. Mrs. Emily Em-ily Tyler and Mrs. Thora Fenn of Provo, conducted the demonstrations demonstra-tions at the high school. Others on 1 the program were E. N. Thompson, State Safety Consultant, M. E. Russell, Rus-sell, District Employment Officer. Tills conference was held in the Interest of the School Lunch Program Pro-gram and the Preservation of Food for use in school lunches during 1942-43 school year.
