Show Rotarians Hold Panel Discussion A very Interesting panel discussion discus-sion of business conditions in Cedar City, featured the program at the Rotary club meeting Tuesday. Ths discussion was conducted by Ku-men Ku-men L. Jones, with about ten members mem-bers of the club participating. The effect of rationing and priorities prior-ities were discussed with representatives represent-atives of various businesses pointing out the effects these regulations are having on businss locally, each expressing ex-pressing perfect willingness to suffer suf-fer these losses and Inconveniences for the war effort. However, severeve criticism of ths governments attitude toward labor. It was pointed out that by placing price ceilings on all products, without with-out placing a celling on wages is making it impossible for the producer, pro-ducer, or any business to continue to pay the wages labor can demand without an increase in revenue from products sold. The speakers claimed that they cannot continue to operate oper-ate on a normal basis, let alone meet increased demands caused by war needs, unless wages are held to a competitive level with price levels. Continued government waste on non-essential activities was also severely criticised. |
