Jacob said the worst thing about being a Clipper carrier, car-rier, "is getting up early on Saturday morning," although al-though he said he's getting used to it. "My advice to all carriers is don't give up. It gets better and easier," Jacob said with a smile. j WEST BOUNTIFUL Twelve-year-old Jacob I Trumbo has been a Clipper carrier ' 'since the very first time in 1989," and he still ioves his work. "He's one of our best," said Circulation Manager Mike Shurtliff. "He really does a good job. We very seldom get any complaints." "I've got a lot of neat people on my route," Jacob said. He said he tries to satisfy all of his 121 customers. "Some of them tell me where they want the paper, and some of them don't say anything," said Jacob. "I don't care if they don't talk to me. Especially if they're not complaining," he said jokingly. Jacob delivers near his West Bountiful home. His route includes Porter Lane north to 2350 North between 600 West and 960 West. When he is not bagging and sorting his paper route, Jacob loves to read. His favorites are adventure stories. "I just read White Fang, and it was really good," he said. Jacob is a sixth grade student at Centerville Elementary, where his favorite subject is math. Next year he will attend Centerville Junior High. "I'm looking look-ing forward to it. I'll like having different teachers, and I've heard they have better lunches,' he laughed. Jacob also loves sports. He is third baseman for a West Bountiful Baseball League team. He also collects baseball cards, and his most prized possession is Bo Jackson's rookie card. Jacob said he's not involved in winter sports. "During the winter I stay home and be warm," he said. He added during the cold winter he stocks up on his favorite international foods, Chinese, pizza and tacos. Jacob is the oldest in his family. "I have a seven-month-old sister and Harrison," he said.
