Show Anniversary set CEDAR CITY - This year marks the 50th anniversary of the SUSC Faculty and Staff Associated Women. In 1932, when the club was organized, the purpose was to "Make the influence of the Branch Agricultural College felt in the outlying districts." It was also moved and carried that "the club would be a literary one." The officers of 1932 were Mildred Sargent, president; Salome Oberhansley, vice president; Maude Halverson, secretary-treasurer; secretary-treasurer; and Lillian Linford, corresponding secretary. In 1932 the membership dues were $1 a year. This year the dues have been raised to $7, in order to continue giving a full-tuition full-tuition scholarship to an outstanding woman student at SUSC. This year the Fall Brunch will be Oct. 16 in the small ballroom at 11 a.m. The theme will be "50 Golden Years" looking back at the beginning of the organization. President! Gerald R. Sherratt will be the guest of honor. The officers for 1982-83 are Mardee Thompson, president; Kay Alger, vice president; Danielle Hatch, secretary-treasurer; secretary-treasurer; Dorothella Smith, historian; and Louise Jones, publicity. |
