'Charlie 's Monument' play to be performed at CHS CEDAR CITY The play Charlie's Monument will be performed Oct. 9 and 11 at the Cedar High School auditorium at 8 p.m. The price for admission is $5 per person or $20 per family, and tickets may be purchased at Mountain Moun-tain West Office Supply or at the door. "Charlie's Monument" is based on a best-selling novel by Blaine Yorgason of the same name, and the music was written by Newell Dayley, the chairman of Brigham Young University Music Department. The cast of the play will also be presenting a special Tri-Stake Fireside Oct. 10 at the Cedar LDS Stake Center at 6 p.m. The play is a presentation presen-tation of Homespun Productions, a company that introduced "The Planemaker," and is directed by James Arrington, who played Brigham Young in the one-man show "Here's Brother Brigham," and was the writer-star of the play "Farley Family Reunion." The cast is led by Marvin Payne as Charlie, the tender crippled man who overcomes adversity and wins the respect of the 1890s frontier town that cast him out. Rosanna Weeks Ungerman, a Sundance Summer Theatre favorite, plays Nellie, whose love and faith restores Charlie's self-esteem self-esteem and ultimately saves his life. Both actors ac-tors recently returned from the extensive "Saturday's Warrior'' summer tour. Supporting Payne and Ungerman are Helen Beaman, Roger Nelson, Don Fleming, Doug Wallace, Carol Cahill, Robert Lundquist, Marchelle Duncan, Coral Terry, Clark Utterback and Claire Carson. |
