Show Pres. Sherratt to lecture inParowan PAROWAN The new era for Southern Utah State College and how the proposed new Special Events Center will benefit all of southern Utah will be discussed Oct. 16 at a public meeting scheduled here. Gerald R. Sherratt, SUSC president, will attend the meeting and explain plans for the college generally and specifically for the Events Center. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the humanities area of Parowan High School. "Parowan has contributed con-tributed significantly in several different ways to the growth of Southern Utah State College over the years," Michael Richards, assistnt to the president, pointed out. "The relationship with Parowan and the many other southern Utah communities is two-way. Those communities benefit a great deal by the presence of a four-year four-year institution in this area." Steve Adams, associate professor of industrial education at SUSC, and Jim Robinson, a member of the SUSC public relations staff, are co-chairmen co-chairmen of the committee com-mittee sponsoring the Parowan meeting. "We think that anything we can do to strengthen the relationship between Parowan and Southern Utah State College would be mutually beneficial," Adams said. "SUSC is making some tremendous tremen-dous strides forward; it should be interesting and valuable to citizens of Parowan to realize the resources available at the college. |
