Show Graff at conference NEW ORLEANS-Dr. A. La Mar Graff recently attended the Annual Scientific Assembly of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in New Orleans. The meeting is being held in conjunction with the Ninth World Conference on Family Medicine of WONCA, the World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners-Family Practitioners-Family Physicians. The local physician, who is a member of the AAFP, will hear internationally in-ternationally renowned speakers discuss up-tc-the-mintue health care topics. He will also have an opportunity to attend clinical seminars on 30 different topics and visit some 70 'Scientific and 380 technical exhibits. Subjects covered in this four-day scientific session are of immediate interest to family doctors both in their everyday practices and in their continual endeavors to keep abreast of the latest advances in medicine. This year, topics include hypertension, aging, diabetes, drug interactions, in-teractions, contraceptive counseling, and childhood nutrition. Just prior to the scientific meeting, Dr. Graff took part in the annual meeting of the Academy's congress of Delegates, the official policy-making body of the organization. The group met Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning, October 4-6. Each of the 54 constituent chapters elects two delegates and two alternates (to serve in the absence of a delegate) . to the Congress of Delegates . Dr. Graff serves as a delegate and as a member of the credentail committe for the Academy. |
