Show Candidates night scheduled A Meet the Candidates night will be held Oct. 21 at 7:30 in the Thorley Recitial Hall on the campus of Southern Utah State College. The event is being sponsored by the Cedar City chapter of the League of Women Voters the Utah Association of Women and KSUB radio. The night will be broadcast on KSUB. According to Lois Bulloch, Utah Association of Women publicity chairwoman, all the local candidates will take place in the question-and-answer session. These will include James Clark, Loraine Juvelin, Howard Knight and Dee Cowan, who are running for county commissioner seats; Ivan Matheson and Franklin Staheli, who are running for the state senate; Haze Hunter and Inez Cooper, who are running for the state Legislature; Neola Brown and John Willie, who are running for the State School Board; and Clayton Frehner, John Taylor, Klien Rollo, Marsha Perkins, Stephen Adams and Joan Mor-tensen, Mor-tensen, who are running for the local school board seats. All candidates will be allowed to give prepared opening and closing statements and will also be quizzed by members of the audience. All questions directed by audience members must be written, down, said Mrs. Bulloch. .7 "This is a good chance to get to know the candidates, can-didates, so you can vote intelligently" concluded Mrs. Bulloch. |
