Show j Former Dixie College Student Wins Assistantship LOGAN, Utah. DeVere R. McAllister Mc-Allister of Blanding, a n honor graduate of the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural college in 1939, has accepted ac-cepted a teaching assistantship at Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa, Dr. R. J. Evans, head of the agronomy ag-ronomy department announced on Tuesday. Since July 1, 1939, Mr. McAllister has been studying at the college on a graduate research assistantship in agronomy and will receive his master's degree this June. He plans to take his doctorate from Iowa State. Mr. McAllister is a graduate of the San Juan county high school and following graduation he attended at-tended Dixie junior college before be-fore enrolling at USAC. He is a member of Alpha Zeta, national honorary agricultural fraternity, and Phi Kappa Phi, national honorary hon-orary scholastic fraternity and in 1938 he received the Danorth Summer fellowship. Mrs. McAllister is the former Ila Cox, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Cox of St. George. The McAllister's Mc-Allister's have one child, a daughter. |
