Show South Ward M.I. A. Holds Theme Festival And Closing Program Tuesday The South ward M.I. A. held their theme festival program in connection with their season closing clos-ing session Tuesday evening. The numbers included a one-act play, "Family Night", directed by Miss Viola Woodbury, a reading by Marion Woodard, a talk on the theme by Mrs. Elizabeth Welker, and a mixed chorus under direction direc-tion of William T. Morris Jr., Presentation of the honor roll was a special feature with Mrs. Claude Thompson 1939-40 Young Women's president, Miss DeVora Whitehead, and Mrs. Louis Pec-tol Pec-tol officers during the first part of the current year receiving corsages in appreciation of their work. Pins were awarded to Muriel Mur-iel Cannon, a junior girl, and to Evelyn Empey and Reba Nelson, Bee Hive girls for records of 100 (Continued on page four) M. LA. In the East ward, H. L. Reid of the Dixie junior college educational educa-tional staff, who has summertime summer-time employment in Zion National Park, gave an interesting talk on the theme, "Nature Is Akin To Man", with film slides illustrating the wonders of the park area. The remainder of the evening was devoted to games and refreshments refresh-ments under direction of the Young Men's organization who were paying off the obligation for the fall membership drive in which the women made high schore. |
