Show Music Festival Hailed As Most Successful One Ever Held In So. Utah By MILTON E. MOODY County School Superintendent The High School Regional Music Festival of southern Utah held in St. George Saturday, April 19, was a very successful and colorful program. pro-gram. Sixteen high schools were represented by over fifteen hundred hun-dred students participating in vocal vo-cal and instrumental solos, duets, trios and quartets, choruses, orchestra or-chestra and band numbers. In addition, many hundred parents and visitors from outside of St. George visited the contest and thronged the streets and stadium during the band parade. This was the largest music festival festi-val yet held in southern Utah. The weather was ideaL much to the delight of many of the northern nor-thern visitors who had driven from snow storms into a day of sunshine and balmy weather. Many of these visitors walked the streets admiring the trees in leaf, the flowers, and "soaking up the sunshine", so they said. No other city in the state could have presented pre-sented the group with such delightful de-lightful weather on this particular particu-lar day. (Continued on page five) Music Festival (Continued from first page) Splendid Cooperation Much of the success of the day was due to the splendid cooperation coopera-tion of the citizens of St. George, Hurricane and neighboring towns.
