Show large Crowd Attends Banquet and Dance In New Rockville Hall HOCKVILLE, Utah. Friday evening eve-ning the opening social was held in the new amusement hall with a!M)ut 200 people in attendance at the banquet and dance. One of the interesting features of the evening was the national dance of Czechoslovakia, danced by a group from New Harmony. Those who took part in the Chechoslovakian dance were Lola and Florence Prince, Roma Mathis, Mra. Vilo Pearce, Vivian Prince, Thomas Pearce, Blaine Whitehead nnd Glenn Graff, with Mrs. Lula iMathis and Mr. Dostalek as accompanists, ac-companists, and Mrs. Dostalek in charge of the costumes. A quilt was given away during the evening to William R. Langs-ton. Langs-ton. It was made by Mrs. Alice Ballard and Mrs. Clara Stevens. In charge of the banquet, was Mrs. Leona Erwin. She was assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Dale Despain, Donna Don-na and Roma Hirschi, Velva and Elnora Stevens, Shirley Lester, Dot is, Nadine and Cora DeMille, Shirley LaFevre, Lorraine Gale, Zoi-li O'Brien and Dorothy Terry. In the afternoon a free dance wa given to the children and refreshments were sold. Those fn charge of the social were Dale Despain, chairman; Marvin Terry, assistant chairman; Mr-' Leona Erwin, banquet; Virgil .Av,Tett, concessions; Afton Balkan!, Bal-kan!, properties; Grant Langston, advertising. Many people from out of town attended the social, and the music was furnished by Weston Wes-ton Justit and his orchestra. Music at the banquet was played by Noel DeMille, Eldon Russell, Emerald Em-erald Jennings and Arch Ballard. |
