Show Elizabeth Vaughn Hunt, 91, Honored On Birthday Anniversary Here Friday Mrs. Gilbert Hyatt was hostess Friday at her home on Temple street to family members and a number of old-time friends, honoring hon-oring her grandmother, Elizabeth Vaughan Hunt, who will be 91 on Nov. 14. Fearing the weather might be too cool at that time for a party it was planned for this earlier date. Mrs. Hunt was horn in a barn in Wales as her people were mov-ine mov-ine toward the sea coast to take ship for America after becoming members of the L. D. S. church. Her life sketch appeared in a former issue of the Washington County News. Now at nearly 91, she is still able to do her own shopping and enjoys visiting among her neighbors neigh-bors and friends. Until recently she did all of her own work and was always up and had breakfast over with before most people arose. She has reared a family alone, since her husband died when they were small, although only one daughter, Mrs. Robert Chadburn of Logandale, Nev., still survives. I She served 24 years as Postmaster Post-master in Gunlock and Central, for which she received personal praise of President Woodrow Wilson. Wil-son. Only the past two years has she discontinued playing the accordion, ac-cordion, but she enjoys music, and the current news and programs pro-grams over the radio. |
