Show (Perowan Beats Dixie To i Take Lead In High I School Football League The breaks of the game gave ! Parowan a single touchdown de-; de-; cision over the Dixie Flyers in i a slow football game at Parowan , Wednesday afternoon. The final i score was 26-19. ! Herbert Pitchforth, star quarterback quar-terback of the Dixie team, suffered suf-fered a broken shoulder in the first few minutes of the game. After that the team did not click in its usual form. Leslie Hafen also had a toe injury inflicted by an accident at home over the week-end; he was able to play, but slowed down considerably. These injuries, together with some breaks for Parowan the last few minutes of the game, resulted in a victory for that team. Dixie took an early lead, and with a few minutes of the final quarter left to play, seemed to have the game in the bag, 19-13. In a display of their best football foot-ball of the game, Parowan rushed the weakened Flyers and tied the score. Dixie seemed in the worst j condition they have been this year. j This game gives Parowan the league lead, with a good chance j to win the laurels. However, they i still have to play the strong Mil-! Mil-! ford and Hurricane teams, and j either may cause an upset. j j The Flyers play Beaver here j ! next Friday and will be out fight- j j ing to retain every chance they , yet have for the championship. |
