Pratt returned from spending the week-end with relatives rela-tives in Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. William Webb of Salt Lake City visited friends and relatives in St. George Monday evening, having motored over from Hurricane with their son, Glenn E. Webb and wife with whom they came from Salt Lake Sunday. They will be guests of the Webbs in Hurricane over the deer season. Charles Whipple returned early Sunday evening from a business trip to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs.. Albert Talbot of Goldpoint, Nev., were guests last Thursday afternoon of Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Leany. On Friday morning Mr. Talbot underwent an appendectomy in the local hospital. hos-pital. On Saturday they left for Beaver to visit relatives. Mr. Tal-: Tal-: bot formerly resided at Harris-burg. Harris-burg. Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Abbott left Saturday for Nelson, Nev., where they will reside. They spent the past week in St. George with their parents, Mrs. Annie Abbott and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cottam. Howard Burriston and his friend of Salt Lake, stopped over Sunday night in St- George with the former's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Chas, Whipple, enroute to accept employment in Los Angeles. Ange-les. Dr. and Mrs. P. E. Harris motored mot-ored to Littlefield Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Frehner. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whipple motored mot-ored to Cedar City Saturday on business. Miss Margaret Little who returned re-turned Saturday from the L. D. S. Texas mission where she has spent the past 18 months, is being be-ing variously entertained this week. She was guest Sunday of Miss Marion Woodard, on Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Little, and Monday evening a dinner guest of DeVora Whitehead. Tuesday she was entertained at the home of Mrs. B. Jarvis. She plans to leave this week-end for Salt Lake City to spend the winter. Martie Larson w e s released from the local hospital Oct. 12, well on the road to recovery from his recent accident. . Mr. and Mrs. Quayle Cannon and family and Miss Bernice Ry-ser, Ry-ser, all of Salt Lake City, visited relatives in St. George Friday, en-route en-route to California for their vacation. va-cation. W. B. Mathis, Leo A. Snow, Milton E. Moody and Lloyd Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur returned Sunday from attending at-tending the U. E. A. in Salt Lake City. Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hyatt returned re-turned Wednesday eveninf from a business and visiting trip to Cedar City and Parowan. In Cedar City the visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hyatt who presented them Saturday Sat-urday with their first grandson. Milton will be remembered as a graduate of Dixie junior college. Since last Jan. 1, Dr. and Mrs. Hyatt have had three children marry and two grandchildren born. Their daughter, Mrs. Dan Crawford and infant daughter, returned with them Wednesday, to visit for the week. Mrs. Gordon Blake returned last week from St. Anthony, Ida., where she went to attend the funeral fun-eral services of her mother, Sarah Singleton Stimpson, who died there the first of the month. Mrs. Stimpson has visited with her daughter in St. George on several occasions, and made many friends during her prolonged visit-here visit-here last winter. On Sunday, Mrs. Blake was advised ad-vised of the death of her grandmother, grand-mother, Ida Singleton, who also lives near St. Anthony, Idaho. Walter Cannon, Morris Cook and part of the bank force, in cluding Ramona Cannon, Mrs. 1 Kate Empey, Miss Mona Wood- j bury and Arlo Prisbrey took advantage ad-vantage of their Saturday for a week-end visit to Los Angeles. Joe Leavitt of Santa Monica, California spent Friday and Saturday Sat-urday here visiting his father, Josiah Leavitt. Mr. and Mrs. ' Rex Andrus of Salt Lake City were visiting relatives rela-tives in St. George Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday afternoon they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wadsworth who took them to visit the McQuar-rie McQuar-rie Memorial hall, the Temple grounds and to call on relatives. Tuesday morning they were breakfast guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Simmons. From St. George they will motor to Wyoming to visit relatives of Mrs. Andrus. Mr. Andrus formerly resided in St. George. Mrs. Don Moody visited over Friday and Saturday in St. George with her former school friend, Mrs. Fred Riding. Mrs. Moody is from Deseret. Mrs. C. B. Conley of Santa Fe, New Mexico, arrived last Thursday Thurs-day to visit for two weeks with her mother, Rose B. Ramsey and grandmother, Jane T. Bleak. |
