On their return trip they stopped in Greeley and Lay, Colo., to visit Alice, Aleta and Orphus Ruppe and the Reed Gurr family. Loyal Turner returned to his naval base at Virginia Beach, Virginia after a 22 day leave spent at the home of his parents the William Turners. Velda Wilkins along with other family members traveled to Salt Lake City to visit her niece who is hospitalized after a car accident. While in Salt Lake City they also visited Ora Curfew in the Holy Cross Hospital. Aaryn, Jeremy and Robbie were overnight guests in their grandparent's home while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gawain Snow, made a business trip to Provo and Salt Lake City. Ron and Lana Walker visited at the Blake Peterson home Sunday. Ray and Nadeen Brown and four children of Bountiful were also weekend visitors at the Blake Peterson and Marie Peterson home. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Morrill went to Salt Lake City Monday to visit Tamara's mother Ora. Lynette Morrill has enrolled at Utah State University at Logan. Dale and Kathy Snow were among the guests at the retirement party at the Lamplighter honoring Jex Terry, a long time employee of Mountain Fuel. Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Peterson and children and Mr. and Mrs. B. Milo Snow and children traveled to Salt Lake City to enjoy the circus. Gertrude Turner traveled by bus to Bountiful on Saturday to the home of her son Bart where she will visit for a week and get to know her new granddaughter. grand-daughter. Louise Bowman of Sacramento, Calif., was a luncheon guest of Vera Snow Friday. Monty Hewett's three brothers and two nephews of Salt Lake City visited the Hewetts Saturday. They combined visiting with work so the Hewett horn now wears a new coat of paint. Earl Gurr was honored on his birthday birth-day Saturday by a party given by his daughter. Numerous Jensen hunters were lured to the mountains for the elk hunt. Not many returned with their prey. Maybe the heavy rains dampened their efforts. Lute Stewart celebrated his 74th birthday birth-day with his family and a few close friends sharing cake and ice cream. Sharalyn Slaugh, daughter of the Wade Slaughs, has been very sick with a virus infection of the mouth. Her small sister Lorena suffered the same sickness a week ago. Both are improving. improv-ing. Francene Peterson was honored with a party Oct. 2, her 7th birthday. Many little friends helped her celebrate. The Lute Stewarts - grandparents, the Auer Warrens and the Monty Hewetts attended the wedding of Joy Stewart and John Hatch Sunday after- noon in Vernal. Holli Snow, the small daughter of the Boyd Snows, has been very sick with virus infection of the mouth. She is improving. im-proving. Janet Slaugh was among the group of high school students who attended the concert in Provo Friday and then went to Salt Lake City to the speech and debate contests returning Saturday evening. Rita Warren and Josie Stewart drove to Salt Lake City Monday to take Mrs. Harold Warren to the eye doctor. The Sandhill cranes are with us once again. This seems to be a favorite stopping stop-ping place to rest up before taking off for the west coast or Mexico for winter. Soon when the signs or the air current is right, thousands of them will take to the air and leave voicing their farewell as they depart. |
