Show Thomas E. Kidd family gathers for reunion in Manila One hundred and eleven members of the Thomas E. Kidd family gathered for a reunion in Manila on Labor Day. Nine children out of ten, many grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed a day of fun, games, prizes and program. The group gathered at the West Side Cafe in Manila. The facilities were donated by the owners to the family. Greetings were given by Dee Kidd and a prayer by Floyd Holfeltz. Mavis K. Powell, family genealogist, reported on work being done and Lula K. Twitchell brought family pictures for sale, and asked for more family group photographs. The chairman of the reunion was Elva K. Bennett. Prizes were given by Marion Kroupa and JoAnn Radosavich to those who had traveled the farthest, the one with the most children, the oldest and youngest. Those with birthdays in September were honored. Marlene Holfeltz directed games for the small children during the business meeting. 'Then a turkey and ham dinner was served buffet style under the direction of Estel Kidd. The group then went to Bennett's Ranch in Sheep Creek Canyon for treasure hunts, volleyball, horse shoes. egg throw and other games. Nila Kidd introduced the program numbers. Each child introduced their children and grandchildren. Mary L. Kidd told jokes about family members. Family group numbers on the program were Rex Fowler and Marvin Allred families, skit; Subrina Kidd, song; Dee Kidd family, song and skit; Lula Twitchell, story; Elynn Stewart and children, song, and bouquet to Grandmother Kidd; Lorenzo Boren family, song; Dean Powell, guitar and song number; and Marion Kroups and JoAnn Radosavich families, dance and skit. Richard Norman took pictures of all the families present. There was a drawing for prizes. Jared Kidd won the children's prize, a large teddy bear. LeAnna Kroupa won the teenage prize, a book, and Mary L. Kidd won the adult prize, a beautiful quilt made by Lula Twitchell. Helping with games were Marian Kroupa, Maurice Kidd and Sylvia Chew. Lori K. Fowler was in charge of invitations. Connie Boren was elected as chairman for the next reunion. In the Kidd family there are 14 sets of five living generations. |
