Show Your Representative Speaks f " By State Rep. i "N ' John Garr Iran The first week in the House has indeed been busy with a great deal of legislative work being accomplished and a record re-cord number of bills being be-ing introduced and acted upon. House Committees are organized and functioning function-ing well. The Senate continues con-tinues to have some internal in-ternal organizational conflicts and as yet have passed no legislation for the House to consider. I have receivedagreat many responses to my initial article and wish to express my appreciation to my constituents who have shown an interest and taken the time to write or call us on the issues published in this paper. I have been in constant contact with the coal mine owners and the Coal Operators Assn. concerning con-cerning the tax posture on metaliferous andnon-metalifferous andnon-metalifferous mining operations op-erations and will keep you apprised of future developments in that area. I am presently making arrangements for a copy of the House and Senate Journals and House and Senate Bills to be sent to each County Library and the district high school in the area, in the hope that my constituents con-stituents will avail themselves them-selves of these important import-ant source materials. Several items of new legislation may be of direct di-rect influence to Grand County and I would appreciate ap-preciate your reaction to them: 1. Repeal of No Fault Insurance. 2. Will and Probate Code Revision is designed design-ed to simplify the present probate court procedures. proced-ures. 3. Agency Shop Bill which will require nonunion non-union members, working at a unionized firm, to pay dues for the services ser-vices rendered them by union negotiations. 4. Appropriate $1 million mil-lion for a Utah Rangeland Development project for interest free loans to improve im-prove rangeland to be administered by the Soil Conservation Commission. Commis-sion.
