Show Title I Educators Met Here in Conference Over one hundred Title I teachers and aids were in Moab last week for a one day seminar and workshop, sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education. Teachers and teacher aides from Carbon, Car-bon, Emery, San Juan and Grand counties were hosted at Grand County Junior High School for the workshop. G. Morris Rowley, of the State Board of Education, Ed-ucation, was the keynote speaker at the General Session held at Star Hall where he welcomed the teachers and aides to the session. For the rest of the day, special classes were conducted to help teachers find out different differ-ent methods of instruction instruc-tion used in other school districts. A luncheon meeting was held at Helen M. Knight elementary school where all persons were treated to the regular luncheon menu. Afternoon classes were held, again at the Junior High School with a summary and evaluation evalua-tion held immediately following fol-lowing at Star Hall. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, the State Board of -Education held an evaluation of the Moab Title I program, pro-gram, under the direction direc-tion of Doris Wilson, who is in charge of the program pro-gram in Moab. The reports were very impressive, noting that the program was one of the best in the state, and the teachers and aides were very competent in their instruction. Mrs. Wilson was praised prais-ed for the program and the different types of materials ma-terials available to students. stu-dents. All members of the State Board of Education were impressed with the effectiveness of the program pro-gram and the ability of the aides to teach and help their students. |
