Show More New Oil Locations : Announced for Utah ! Location is being readied rea-died by American Quasar Qua-sar Petroleum, Energet-1 Energet-1 ics, Inc., and North Cen-! Cen-! tral Oil for another well near the oil discovery in the Pineview area 12 miles east of Coalville, reports Carlton Stowe. The operators report the r intended well will be j drilled about a half mile northeast of the discov-' discov-' ery well, the No. 1 New-t New-t ton Sheep where oil production pro-duction testing is still underway of a zone at 9,931 feet. It is bottomed at a total depth of 14,500 feet. The new well is projected pro-jected to about 10,500 feet for tests of the Nugget Nug-get formation. About 22 miles east, American Quasar is drilling below 10,700 feet at the No. 1 Cow Hollow exploratory test. It is in Summit County about 21 miles west of Bridger Lake field. The operator will drill this well to about 17,500 feet. In other activity in Utah, Mr. Stowe says Exxon is continuing tests at the Wilkin Ridge Unit test in Duchesne County, south of Myton. It was drilled to 12,390 feet. Tests of gas zones have flowed at rates as high as 185,000 cubic feet daily. dai-ly. In Grand County, Phillips Phi-llips Petroleum has location lo-cation for a 6,100 foot test of the White Rim formation nearly two miles south of the North Salt Valley field. Phillips Phil-lips completed the discovery dis-covery in the vicinity at No. 1-A Blaze, pumping 155 barrles of oil per day, in December. In San Juan County, Mountain Fuel Supply has completed a small gas discovery well east of Monticello. The No. 1 Leverton, a re-worked well, flowed 258,000 cubic cu-bic feet of gas per day from 5,690 feet. It had been abandoned in 1958. |
