Show Eugene W. Grutt, Jr. ; Her AEC Manager in G.J. t Eugene W. Grutt, Jr., has been named Manager Mana-ger of the Atomic Energy Ener-gy Commission's Grand Junction Office, effective January 12. He succeeds Elton A. Youngberg who retired December 31, 1974. In his new position, Mr. Grutt will be responsible re-sponsible for the management man-agement and direction of the AEC's expanded uranium ur-anium resource evaluation evalua-tion program and related re-lated activities, the leasing lea-sing of AEC controlled uranium-bearing lands, and the Grand Junction Mill Tailings Remedial Action program. The Grand Junction Office will become part of the Energy Research and Development Administration Adminis-tration on January 19, as part of Public Law 93-438, 93-438, the Energy Reorganization Reor-ganization Action of 1974. Mr. Grutt joined the AEC in April 1953 as a geologist at the Douglas, Wyoming sub-office of the Denver Exploration Branch, Division of Raw Materials. He was appointed ap-pointed Chief of the Casper, Cas-per, Wyoming Branch Office in 1955, and Chief of Grants, New Mexico Branch Office in 1958. In 1962, Mr. Grutt was named Chief of the Resource Re-source Appraisal Branch GJO, and in 1967 Director Direct-or of the Resource Division, Divi-sion, GJO. He was named Assistant Manager of the Office in July 1973, the 1 position he has held until his appointment. Mr. Grutt receivedhis BS degree in mining engineering en-gineering from the University Uni-versity of Nevada, Reno, in 1938. He is a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers, and a Fellow of the Geological Geologi-cal Society of America and of the American Association As-sociation for the Advancement Ad-vancement of Science. B is a member of the Grand Junction Geological Society So-ciety and a Registered Professional Mining Engineer En-gineer and Geologist. Mr. Grutt and his wife, Rose, have two grown children. |
