Show Individualized Education Discussed of iAoounq The monthly program, lesson, and social of the Woman's Literary Club was held Saturday, Jan. 12, at the First Western Bank with the Education Committee as the host esses. The tea table was beautifully beau-tifully done with snowmen decorations and napkins. Gwyn Mcador, Chairman of the Education Committee, Commit-tee, was the Mistress of Ceremony. Prayer was given by Marjoric Munt, the Pledge was led by Merlyn Maxwell with a short explanation of the way it should be said. Mrs. Mcador then introduced in-troduced Helen Manic Madson, 6th grade teacher teach-er at Southeast Elementary Elemen-tary School. Her topic was "The Need for Individual In-dividual Instruction in Elementary El-ementary Education." This is a fairly new concept con-cept in modern education, but actually dates as far back as the time of the "little red school house." She explained the new teaching aids used now, and how level placement is accomplished. Several of her students assisted. They were Ryon Stewart, Kimmy Holyoak, Clay Cathy, Meg Knowles, Tommy Bayer, Kathleen Daniels, and Debbie Som-merville. Som-merville. Phylis Reed, Instructor of elementary music, gave a couple of numbers played couple of num-oers num-oers on me accordian. She played a take-off on "Three Blind Mice" and "Dark Town Strutter Ball." She was followed by Bill Meador, Superintendent of Grand County Schools, who followed through with Mrs. Madsen's presentation presenta-tion with an explanation of the history of education educa-tion and the need for this program in modern education. edu-cation. Along these lines, the Club will again present their scholarship for the spring quarter at the southeastern Utah Center for Continuing Education. This com mi I ( m ; wi 1 1 woi !'. with Dr. H. K.
