By Barbara Ekker Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Sellers are announcing the engagement and forcoming marriage of their daughter, Karen Jean, to Danny Heber Albrecht, son of Mr. and Mrs. La Naie Albrecht. Miss Sellers is a Senior students at Wayne High School where she is Pep Club President, Yearbook Year-book staff officer, choir member. Danny is a '74 graduate from Wayne High School where he served as FFA President, Presi-dent, member of the wrestling team, track team member, thespian, and is presently a government gov-ernment trapper for the county. The wedding date has been set for Jan. 25 at the ward recreation hall in Hanksville. Machinist mate 2nd class Kenneth Noyes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Noyes, has returned home after serving four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Stein in the Southeast Asia area. His parents met him at the Salt Lake airport air-port the 16th after he flew in from the Phillipines. - The Wayne County Preference Ball was held Saturday Jan. 18th with candidates George Chap-pell, Chap-pell, Mark Mulford, Russell Rus-sell Edwards, Randy Blackburn, David Moos-man, Moos-man, Andy Taft and Marshall Mar-shall Brinkerhoff select ed to compete for Most Prefered Man. Bruce Ekker experienced experi-enced a terrifying experience ex-perience Friday while returning from a radar site of the FFA near Battle Bat-tle Mountain, Nevada. He was aboard a snow-cat when it slipped over a 100 yard drop in a blinding blind-ing snow storm. Luckily he had a radio and was able to call for help but his rescuers got stuck before reaching him. The phone company heard of the plight and they too tried to rescue both -"downed cats" and they too were unsuccessful. The near frozen men, Ekker and two FAA employees, em-ployees, were forced to walk out. The accident occurred at the 12,000 foot level with snow depths near five feet. The accident occurred at noon and the frost bitten men returned to their station at Battle Mountain Moun-tain at 3 a.m. the next morning. Hanksville students who are members of the newly organized Thespian Thespi-an Club at Wayne High School include Nona Lee Johnson, Cynthia Jackson, Jack-son, Hyrum Noyes, and Brenda Sellers. Presently she is the TV editor of the Daily M Herald Newspaper at ' .Provo and was able to get Jay North (Dennis Bll the Menace) and RoyRo-gers RoyRo-gers to appear at the Fishing Rodeo where proceeds went to the Handicapped of Utah County.
