Show Model Car Contest' Announced; Prizes To Equal $65,000 DETROIT, MICH., Nov 3 The 1950 model car competition of the Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild is offering $65,000 in cash awards and university scholarships to the nation's best 'teen-age model automobile auto-mobile designers and builders, it was announced today by J. J. Cronin, vice-president of General Motors, general manager of the Fisher Body Division, and Guild president. Enrollments already are being taken for the competition by Guild field representatives who personally person-ally are visiting many of the public pub-lic and parochial schools throughout through-out the country, Cronin said. Any boy in. the United State?, between be-tween the ages of 12 and 20 is eligible el-igible to enter the competition and may obtain an enrollment card by writing to the Fisher Body Craftsman's Crafts-man's Guild, General Motors Building, Build-ing, Detroi,t 2, Michigan. 1 A booklet on model car design and construction, the only textbook text-book of its kind for youths wishing wish-ing to learn about automobile design, de-sign, will be sent to each boy enrolling en-rolling in Nthe Guild, Cronin said. Deadline for finishing cars is July 1, 1950. |
