Show Candidates of Two Parties Seek Springville Votes Political fervor is reaching its peak as candidates of the two parties seek support in the coming election next Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the eight voting districts tVi--nii crViAnf tVio rit7 Pnll3 will hp throughout the city. Polls will be open from 7 a. m. to 8 p. m., and every registered citizen should appreciate ap-preciate and take advantage of the right to be represented in the city government by casting his vote for the candidate of his choice. With two strong tickets in' the field, a close race for city offices is expected this election. This year's election is somewhat unique in the history of voting here, in that since the recent law change, third class cities, in which Springville Spring-ville is rated, will elect the mayor for a 4-year term; two councilmen for 4-year terms, and one city recorder re-corder for a 4-year term. Also unique is the fact that for the first time in Springville a woman candidate can-didate has been nominated for the office of city councilman. The Springville Herald office of-fice will be open during the evening of election day, and will stay open until final returns re-turns are in. Call 57 for the latest elections returns Tuesday Tues-day evening. Headed by Fay C. Packard, local banker and civic leader, for mayor, the incumbent Independent party candidates for 4-year councilmen are Edward Boyer and Jack Robertson. Rob-ertson. Murray Peay and Harold Whiting are the 2-year candidates, with Wm. Bringhurst, city recorder, record-er, and Ruby Twitchell, treasurer, completing the list. Edward Clyde, local contractor and church worker, is mayor candidate can-didate on the Citizens party. Le-Roy Le-Roy Tingey is one 4-year councilman. council-man. Other 4-year man is A. L. Thorpe, who was placed on the ticket after the withdrawal of Arvil Bird, who was nominated at the party primary. Mr. Bird withdrew with-drew after officials ruled that his residence was outside of the corporate cor-porate city limits. Mrs. Mary Smart and Alma Fullmer are the two 2-year councilmen, with Lloyd Ashcraft, city recorder, and Mrs. Janet Crandall running for city treasurer. Voting districts for the election are as follows: District 1 Bernice Beardall, 508 South Fourth East; district 2 Mrs. Julia Sumsion, 124 South Second West; district 3 Retta R.
