PAUL JOHNSON 5th grade Lincoln school Most Fun The most fun we have had all year was the Hallowe'en Party held Friday night in the Auditorium. Auditor-ium. Mi?.s White, our teacher, and Mrs. Gwen Cutler, our room mother, mo-ther, invited all our parents to be with us at this party. We danced together after we showed the parents par-ents how we were learning to Some of our School Reporters were too busy this week with Hallowe'en parties and school affairs af-fairs to get their news in but not Larry Christensen of the Mapleton Sixth Grade. Larry put forth an extra effort and got something in for every grade in his school. It was written neatly and in on time. We have had many reports that parents and even those with no children in school, enjoy reading the School News. We hope they will not be too disappointed with tho short column this week but remember Hallowe'en comes but once a year. We will be looking forward to more and more school news next week. Mapleton School News First Grade The First Grade had a Hallowe'en Hallo-we'en party October 27. They had popcorn, cookies and punch. Mrs. Hutchings is the First Grade teacher. Second Grade The Second Grade is busy making mak-ing funny cats and Hallowe'en pictures pic-tures for Hallowe'en. They will wear their Hallowe'en costumes also. S $ Third Grade The Mapleton third grade held a Hallowe'en party Monday afternoon after-noon as a grand end to the month of October. Costumed in different ways the boys and girls, spent the afternoon entering into contests, singing, games, dancing, and a program. After the afternoon fun, Hallowe'en Hallo-we'en treats were passed out. Fourth Grade The Fourth Grade are starting a new hobby with pioneer thing?.. They have paper covered wagons, horses, cattle and a minature log cabin. They also have a frieze of pioneer picture. Fifth Grade Desks The Mapleton Fifth grade just received new chairs and desks Monday, October 24. They are very happy with their new ones. Oh What Fun A lot of fun was had by our Sixth grade at a spook alley and treasure hunt at Mrs. Billings Friday Fri-day night after school. Dagwood sandwiches, ice cream, cones filled with mashed potatoes, punch and cookies were the treats-Candy treats-Candy apples were given as prizes. Hallowe'en Party The Fifth Grade had a party October 28. Most of the students wore costumes. They served refreshments. re-freshments. They had a fine time. Newspaper ' The Mapicton Sixth Grade is making a newspaper. It is going to have two pages fcr first, second and third giar.e. Ihe rest is for other grades. Rex Jensen is in charge of all art. Colleen Mason first, fficond and third. Arlen Waters. LARRY CHRISTENSEN Reporter, Sixth Grade PTA Lady One day a PTA lady came to our room and passed out envelopes. Then she said to put a quarter into in-to each envelope to join the PTA. The room that had the most parents par-ents joining, would get a prize. Our room had the highest per cent.
