Show ORPHEUM ANNOUNCES NEW YEAR'S DANCE Following out the precedent so successfully suc-cessfully set last New Year's eve, Manager Man-ager Edward P. Levy of the local Or-pheuni Or-pheuni theater will provide a special attraction for the "midnight matinee" Wednesday evening, according to an announcement made yesterday. It was announced also by Manager Levy that arrangements have been completed with the Utah Light & Traction Trac-tion company, through Manager Henry F. Dicke, for the running of extra lineup line-up cars to leave the down-town district at 1:05 a. m., or sufficiently later to give everyone attending the special "midnight matinee" ample time to catch homeward-bound cars after the show. The second Orpheum show will start at 10:30 p. m. Tho added attraction scheduled by Manager Levy includes a big jazz concert con-cert and dance, with special music by Fid Gordon's Musical Boys, the famous jazz band accompanying Eva Shirley in her headline act on the Orpheum bill. The band of seven skilled jazz artists has been widely heralded by Pacific coast unties as one of the liveliest live-liest aggregations of jazzers to visit that section this season, and Salt Lake dancers will doubtless welcome an opportunity op-portunity to dance to their music. Everyone attending tho special "midnight "mid-night matinee" is invited to remain for the jazz concert and dance, and to mingle with the artists on the vaudeville vaude-ville bill in celebration of the advent of 1020. They are promised a royal good time and plenty of the jazz spirit-in spirit-in keeping with the hour. The concert and dance will follow immediately after the conclusion . of the second show, shortly after midnight. |
