The Service Star Legion is f composed of the mothers, w:os, sisters and (laughters of men who served with the armed forces of the nation during t lie world ar. Originally the name of the organization organiza-tion was the ''War Mothers, ' ' but this was changed at last summer 's convention conven-tion at Baltimore, when there was a general organization. At Friday's meeting it is hoped to gather a large represent at iou of the women of the city, members of whose families saw service. The purposes of the women's organization are. similar in patriotic nature and scope to the aims of the American Legion. l.hiring the period of the emergenc-, the "War Mothers were active in helping care for the families of men in the service, and in answering many and varied calls made on them. The gathering will bo held at 2 o'clock Fridav afternoon in the ballroom ball-room of the Hotel Utah. Mrs. Led-yard Led-yard M. Bailey will read a collection of poems which grew out of the war and special music will be provided. The call for the meeting was issued by tho following members of the state division of the Service Star Legion: Mrs. Willi Jim C.
