Show HOME BOOM ATTRACTS JAPANESE LABORERS TOKIO, Dec. 27. (By the Associated Press.) The number of Japanese laborers labor-ers going abroad, mainly to South America, Amer-ica, has considerably decreased, says a semiofficial announcement. This is attributed at-tributed to the business boom which took place in Japan during the war and which opened up opportunities- for Industrial and commercial activities here. Emigrants to Peru, where Japanese now go without restriction, number about 1200 for the present year, a decrease of about L'O per cent from last year. Japanese Japan-ese immigran's to Brazil thus far this year totaf -500. as compared to 5500 during dur-ing a corresponding period last year. The statement asserts that "Japanese Immigrants in South America have received re-ceived an enthusiastic welcome everywhere every-where since the beginning of the war. which stopped the coming of Europeans." |
