Farmers in Idaho this year produced crops valued at $L14,CS4.2S5. according to a report Just released by Julius H. Jacobsen of the Idaho crop reporting service of the United States department of agriculture. This estimate compares with J115.328.281 for lit.S. and is considered a splendid record in face of the severe drought of 1919, which is set forth in the report a.s the most severe In thirty years. The state's seventeen leading crops were taken Into consideration In arriving at the total set forth, as follows: Wheat, oats, barley corn, rve. potatoes, hay, sugar ' beets' clover seed, alfalfa seed, beans, peas ' apples, peaches, pears. stiRar beet seed'and tlninthv seed. The total acreage planted to all crops In 1919 amounted to ' TO 111 acres, and the average cash return' re-turn' ptr acre for every acre planted amounted to J45.90. The highest cash return per acre was for potatoes, which yielded 5226.50 per acre, as compared with J149.S5 lor 191H. Sugar beet seed was second w ith an aver age yield per acre of $225, as against 305.!.Q In 191S. The report shows that 1.030.000 acres of land were planted to wheat with an average yield of 1S.1 bushels per acre, valued at jas.345,000, or $37.11 per acre.
