Show STAG E SET FOB jurat m OGDEN, Nov. i(t. The first anniversary of the signing of the armistice will he observed I here tomorrow in elaborate styie. Those boys who were in the service ser-vice a year ago and did their part in helping to win the great war 'are the sponsors for tomorrow's celebration, which will be under the direction of the Herman Her-man Baker post of the American Legion. The banks, business houses, city and county offices and schools will close for the day. The official program. Iss'ued today, says: "The celebration between the hours of 7 and 0 o'clock in the morning will be an exact duplication of the stunts last year. The Southern Pacific band will furnish fur-nish music on the downtown streets between be-tween those hours and the fun should be classed with that of last year Oh, Buddy:" Between the hours of 9 and 10 there will be special concerts on the streets by the local bands. At 10 o'clock the legion will present the city officials with an American tlag, which will become the city's official Hag. The six-mile cross-country run from Xorth Ogden to Lorln Farr park is scheduled sched-uled to start. The runners will finish in front of the grand stand at the park. Other big events at the park in the afternoon after-noon will be a 100-yard dash, 220-yard dash and mile run. There will be a soccer' football game between the Salt Lake and Ogden teams. The football game between the L'tah Aggie freshmen and the American Amer-ican Legion teams is scheduled to oegin at 3 p. m. In the evening there will he a banquet to the American Legion, and the banquet ban-quet will be followed by a carnival celebration cele-bration upon the streets, dances ar the Berlhana and Eagles" halls and a boxing match at the armory. It is expected that a naval exhibition will be staged in the city about -1 o'clock in the afternoon, at which will be shown the navy recruiting service replica of a torpedo boat. Former members of the navy have signified their intention of drilling and taking part in the naval demonstration". |
