Show UNIVERSITY CLUB TABLET UNVEILED As a permanent memorial to the men of the University club who gave their services to the government during the war, a bronze table commemorating their work was unveiled last night at the club. To show appreciation of tiie work done by former service men from the club membership, the organization donated the tablet which bears the names of all of the civilian members and war workers who were in the service. There were 120 members of the University club in the service, but the tablet bears only the names of ninety-eight, the others being members of the regular army, navy and marine establishments. After the unveiling of the tablet by H. D. Bowman, vice president of the club, W. W. Ray gave the oration of the evening eve-ning on the services rendered by the men honored, and voiced the club's appreciation apprecia-tion of them. E. B. Critchlow was toast-master toast-master and called on the following: H. B. Fabian, Dr. H. N. Mayo. W. H. Gregory. George D. Keyser. Dr. EL P. Kirtley and Mayor W. Mont Ferry. The stag banquet was attended by about 120 members and guests. |
