Show WAR INVENTIONS OF VALUE, JEWETT SAYS That war-time electrical discoveries and inventions will be of great benefit during the days of peace, and will form the basis of even greater discoveries, .was the opinion opin-ion expressed by Dr. Frank B. Jewett, chief engineer of the Western Electircal company before members of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers at the Commercial club hist night. Dr. Jewett was a lieutenant colonel in the signal reserve corps during the war, and was decorated by the war department depart-ment for his services In the development of electrical devices. Mr. Jewett said that submarine detectors de-tectors wiil be of great value to the peacetime peace-time shipping industry' in avoiding collisions col-lisions In the dark and fog and in locating submerged harbor bells. The wireless telephone will also he used to great advantage, ad-vantage, he said. Th next few years, Mr. Jewett said, will bring many developments develop-ments In power generation and in electrically elec-trically operated machinery. |
