Show IIINIDN CHIEF HAS INCREASED VALUE Volume of Trading on Stock j Exchange Shows Breadth; Most Stocks Active. Volume or' trading on the local stock exchange showed a breadth of tor.e that was quite apparent. While the volume of trading', 137, S00 shares with a market t valuation of $17,173, was only normal, hut ! tew stocks failed to register trading. Park City, Tintic and Alia stocks all came in for their share of the trading. Union Chief made the most noticeable improvement. This stock, which :l week ago was selling freely at 4 and cents, yesterday, with 9000 sales, closed at 10 cents. East Crown Point, with 40,000 shares sold, had a strenuous day's trading. trad-ing. Desplt the fact that the stock was readily sold after opening at 2 cents, It closed slightly stronger at ZVi cents. Silver Shieid had a rough day. During the first session this stock opened at 40 cents with 7100 shares sold rapidly, the price in almost every sale thereafter receding, re-ceding, until with the sale of 12,300 shares, it subsided to a close of 34 cents. Eureka Bullion told at 233 cents, Columbus Co-lumbus Rexall at 32 cents, Alta Consolidated Consoli-dated at 13 cents and Leh! Tintic at 15 cents. Xaildrtver. with 500 sales, closed at To cents, and S00 Keystone sold around 50 cents. Silver King Coalition, with 500 shares, closed strong at $1.90. Tintic Standard, with 200 sales, softened slightly and closed at $4.35. Walker, with 300 sales, firmed up after the first sales and closed on the last at $4.80.
