Show GERRIT FORT'S HONORS. Throughout the west, where Gerrit Fort counts his friends by the legion, there will be great satisfaction at the honor conferred upon him by Secretary McAdoo. His record is sufficient evidence evi-dence that no better man could have been chosen as director of all passenger traffic on the lines controlled by the government. Mr. Fort has served on eastern and western lines, and this countrywide experience ex-perience will be especially valuable to him in directing traffic in all parts of the country. He has long ranked among the foremost railway men of tho country, but his popularity does not depend solely upon his ability. His attractive at-tractive personality, his geniality and his high character all have contributed to win for him the esteem of an ever-widening ever-widening circle of friends. |
