The conservation division relics upon each state council to work out, in conjunction con-junction with communfty labor bdards, arrangements suitable to local conditions for the future disposition of delivery plans already in effect. "The national .war service committee of retail dry goods and department stores is telegraphing its representative in your state to confer with you regarding future action in this matter. Because the future of the program is thus left to the discretion discre-tion of each state council, no publicity is being given to tlie present change from Washington, but each state council is left to give out such notice to the press of its state as will be consistent with its policy regarding tins program. "The conservation division expresses its appreciation for the splendid assistance as-sistance rendered by the state councils of defense and their representatives handling commercial economy matters in putting through this program, with which thousands of retail merchants have complied com-plied and which substantially facilitated tlie adjustment of the nation to war con-' con-' ditions." |
