Special features will play a big role in putting over the war savings stamp drive to be launched December 2 and to continue con-tinue until the end of the week. One of these features is outlined in the following follow-ing letter: "To the Business Houses of Salt Lake City and County: "As one meam of lending impetus to the war savings stamp drive during the next week, we respectfully ask that the following follow-ing action be subscribed to by all business busi-ness establishments, in Salt Lake City and county: "That on Tuesday, December 10 IS, thrift stamps be purchased equivalent to the number of pieces of outgoing mail that leave your institution. "Further," that during the entire week, to paraphrase the suggestion of Thomas Edison, tho following complimentary closing be used on all letters. "Remember to buy a baby bond to bring tho boys back. "I j K. HAMPTON. "Chairman Salt Lake county committee." It is generally agreed that the response to this appeal will be wholehearted. The reputation of the Salt Lake business fri-ternitv fri-ternitv in connection with war activities has been so magnificently generous that one may rest assured that there will he no skimping in the matter of volume of mail. It is obvious that tho raising of sd.-.nn.-noo in 2' cent pieces would be an exceedingly exceed-ingly difficult undertaking. Therefore, there must of necessity he, a great number num-ber of larger subscriptions. A $1000 club of liberal membership would materially relieve the anxieiv of those in charge of tin campaign. This, oi' course, is not aid to the discredit of the, humblest purchase. Every one must get in on this drive Not onlv must father buy bonds for tiie children; the children must help buy them themselves if Salt Lake county secures its quota- |
