Show POST PLUMBING BIDSARE .OPENED Awards for Construction Work May Be Announced An-nounced Today. Bin's on the plumbing work to be' done in five sets of double barracks to be covered for hospital use at Fort Douglas Doug-las and plumbing for tho nurses' building were-opened yesterday morning In tho office of-fice of the constructing quarter master, Major A. J. McDonald. The lowest bid on the cntlro work was a little less than 6000, that on the barracks bar-racks being about JooOO and the figures on the nurses" building being about $400. No award has been announced as yet as the construction department was busy the rest of the day yesterday tabulating the bids and figuring them up. An announcement an-nouncement of the award will probably be made today. Among the bidders on the contract were the Crane company, N. O. Nelson, Joseph Jo-seph Nelson and the Mountain states Supply company. The fcalt Lake Hardware Hard-ware company submitted figures on some of the fixtures. The figures submitted In the bids yesterday yes-terday were quite a bit lower than was anticipated in view of the bids submitted submit-ted or the first plumbing contract offered. It has been estimated that the work on five sets of barracks would cost in the neighborhood of $30,000, but the total will be about ?tJ000, or a saving of about $1000 on. tho estimated cost.
