Show Bride Is Honored at Small Party M! ISS FR ANTES' EVANS entertained a few friends at a miscellaneous ! shower at her home on Third East street yesterday afternoon in com-i com-i pliment to Miss Grace Cooke a popular ; young bride of the season.1 Tea was served late in the afternoon. Chrysanthemums Chrysanth-emums and violets were arranged in an effective centerpiece for the tea table. The hostess was assisted by her mother. moth-er. Mrs. a. D. Evans. Gates and daughter, daugh-ter, Miss Frances Gates, left yesterday yester-day for their home in San Francisco after a visit to Salt Lake. Allen L.. Davis of Salt Eake will leave soon for San Francisco Fran-cisco to visit at the Gates home. Mrs. Arthur Tver Johnson has arrived from Newport News, Va., where she has been with her husband, who is now in France. Mrs. Johnson, formerly Miss Doris Martin, will be with her mother, Mrs. Bertha Martin, until her husband's return. - Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Mecklenburg are in Stockton, Cal.. wheie they were called by the serious illness of Mr. Mecklenburg's mother. Mrs. J. K. Cawley and Mrs. M. E. Murphy have gone to Omaha, where they were called by the serious illness of Mrs. J. I. Sexton, formerly Miss Margaret Murphy. Mr. and Mrs. James E. Jennings will leave soon for southern California to sr. end the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rlcljard Pembroke aro receiving congratulations over the arrival ar-rival of a daughter, born Thanksgiving day at the Holy Cross hospital. President and Mrs. Heber J. Grant have gone to California for a short stay. Mr. and Mrs. David O. McKay will Join them and accompany them home. Mrs. Charles E. Fox will arrive Sunday Sun-day from Washington, D. C, to attend the marriage of her son, Lieutenant Commander Lawrence Fox, U. S. N., and Miss Grace Cooke. Mrs. Fox will be at the Hotel Utah during her stay in the city.
