Show CAPITOL MUG CO. - BUYS BIGGER HOIST The Capitol Mining company yesterday purchased a new first -motion, hish-power hish-power holstlnp eng-ine for its property in Beaver county, Secretary J. M. Reynolds Reyn-olds announced. This engine has a capacity- for sinking the main shaft to the 1000-foot level. The company finds its present engine entirely too small to extend the shaft below the present level of nearly 00 feet. The shaft has1 heen sunk on tho vein, which ia twenty feet wide on the surface, and has never been out of heavy Iron from the surface to the 200 level. The. last twenty feet, it is slated, has shown 1 a better grade of carbonates than at any time in the past, the whole bottom of the shaft being now in heavy Iron and some of it is of a commercial grade. It is the Intention of the l.ianagement to continue t lie shaft to the 400-foot level, regardless of the heavy iron, although It is expected that shipments will be made from the shaft before the 400-f'ot level is reached. A great deal of Interest has been shown in this property, from the fact that high-grade silver-lead ores are coming from this vein toward the south. The location of the Capitol is such that, with the high percentage of Iron already encountered, ore as low grade as ?10 pet-ton pet-ton can be mined and shipped at a profit. It is the opinion of many who have seen this property that it Is destined to become be-come one of the big producers of southern south-ern Utah. |
