Show 'ir to mm El MULE Plan to Arrange Games With California and Northwestern Teams. Plans are under way for the enlargement enlarge-ment of the annual football schedule of the University of Utah. The proposal tentatively under discussion now is that Utah should endeavor to4 arrange games with the University of California, Stanford Stan-ford university and the . University of Southern California, and also with the University of Oregon and the University of Washington. The plan would be to make a trip to California one year and to the northwest the next, and also to bring a California team and also a northwestern team to Salt Lake every fall. Dean AV. H. 1-eary of the athletic council coun-cil is understood to be heartily in favor of adding to Utah's football schedule. He is planning a trip to the Pacific coast In the near future and by the time he leaves it is likely that ho will be empowered em-powered to establish athletic relations with the schools named. AVith the restoration of normal' condi-trbns condi-trbns it is felt that sports will enjoy a great revival, and that football will be extensively in demand next fall. Utah already al-ready has an enviable reputation as a producer of football elevens, and the widening of the school's field of compe-tion compe-tion Is regarded as a condition much to be desired. While the project for expanding the "U" schedule has not yet taken on really definite form, it is expected that the scheme will rapidly mature and boon be in fungible shape. |
