The Ellison Ranching company of Ctah has completed a deal whereby it takes over 88,000 acres of land near Winnemucea, Xev. formerly held by the Golconda Cattle company of California, of which the principal holder was Congressman Con-gressman William Kent of California.. The Ellison Ranching company now has a capital stock of $300,000, which! shortly will be increased. The deal just j put through involves more than $1,000,- J 000. The Ellison company is controlled! by the Knight family of Provo and D. P. Ellison of Laytou. ' The negotiations are said to have been concluded through the payment of $100,-OuO $100,-OuO down, the remainder of the purchase price to be paid when the cattle involved in-volved are counted and the new owners go into possession, which i3 expected to! be about April 1. The Golconda com-! pan- was represented hy Alfred K. Kent, as secretary, and the Ellison com-1 pany by J. "Will Knight. The officers and incorporators of the Ellison Ranching eompanv are Jesse Knight, president; E. P. Ellison, vice president and general manager; L. E. Ellison, secretary and treasurer; J. "Will Knight, E. I. Rich, John Flint, J. K. Layton, J. E. Ellison and R. E. Allin-son, Allin-son, directors. The land purchased is in two sections, one of 80,000 acres and the other S000 acres. There are involved in the purchase pur-chase approximately 5000 head of cattle, 20,000 head of sheep and 500 horses. The Ellison Ranching company was in possession of considerable land in the vicinity before this latest purchase was made. |
