Show LATE ORDER TENDS TO SLOW UP MAILS Transcontinental mail addressed to points on the Pacific coast, including all special delivery letters, will hereafter be delayed five hours and forty minutes in Chicago for sorting and repacking, according accord-ing to an order from the postoffice department depart-ment at Washington. The order is directed to the Chicago and Omaha railroad postoffice, an important impor-tant transcontinental mail link. The mail on this train in the future is to be worked in the Union Terminal railroad postoffice in Chicago instead of being worked on the train, and is scheduled to be dispatched dis-patched in pouches between five and six hours after its receipt. |
