Show ASKS EARLY RETURN OF UTAH TROOPERS ' Representative Mays Presents Telegram of Governor Bamberger .to Federal War Department. Prompt aoMon for the return of the second squadron, of Utah cavalry to Salt lke was urged by Governor Simon Bamberger Bam-berger yesterday upon the war department depart-ment at Washington through Representative Represen-tative J. H. Mays. Advices from Washington Wash-ington last night said that the Utah I roopa ha ve al read y been d esigna ted for return, but the date has been left to the discretion of General Fred Funston, commanding the southern division. The attention of General Funston was called to the matter by the war department yesterday yes-terday and it is believed that the date for tite return will soon be fixed, the ad- 1 vices said. I National guard officers here look for the departure of the Utah boys before the end of the present week. However, no official information has been received by them. Until the definite date of arrival of the second squadron in Salt Lake is received no arrangements are being made by the citizens' training camp committee for the welcome and reception of the soldiers. Plans will be made for a dinner and reception re-ception as soon as the time of their ar- rival here is known. . i |
